Madeleine Simms, abortion law reformer and campaigner on a wide range of social issues, has died at the age of 81.
Lord Steel of Aikwood described her as "one of the most persistent, intelligent and active proponents of abortion law reform and especially helpful to me and other MPs and peers when fighting to get legislation on the statue book in 1967. The fact that we succeeded was in no small measure due to her powers of persuasion".
This website is dedicated to her memory and contains tributes from her family, friends and fellow campaigners for a Woman's Right To Choose.
